**Responsibilities**
+ Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Telemetry Technician delivers efficient, high-quality care to monitored patients. This includes continuous observation of hemodynamic monitors to detect and promptly communicate any potential or life-threatening arrhythmias.
+ Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Performance Improvement Program, legal, safety, environmental, infection control standards and the Patient's Bill of Rights.
+ Ensures the accurate identification and reporting of the monitored patient's hemodynamic status.
+ Maintains monitoring equipment and supplies, making arrangements for reorder, repair and quality control.
+ Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and Hospital personnel, while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
+ Documents and communicates all appropriate data/information to intra/interdepartmental personnel.
+ Initiates, maintains and documents placement of monitor leads based on the Registered Nurse's assessment
+ Ensures placement of monitor strips in the patient's medical record as defined by Hospital/departmental standards
+ Attends continuing education essential in furthering knowledge and skill in arrhythmia monitoring and equipment
+ Serves as a preceptor and role model for new Monitor Technicians and students.
+ Accesses network and effectively utilizes electronic applications (e.g., e-mail, LMS, T.E.A.M, etc) on a daily basis.
+ May perform duties of the Unit Secretary or Nursing Assistant as requested by management
+ Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
**Qualifications**
+ Previous experience as a Monitor Technician in an acute care setting.
+ High School diploma/GED required.
+ Successful completion of an approved basic arrhythmia program required
+ Current AHA BLS card required.
+ Fire Card required within 90 days of hire.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

$26.31 - $33.05 /hour
